Woodland
Hills, Calif., July 17, 2000 Vertel® (NASDAQ: VRTL), a leading provider of mediation software for telecommunications networks, today announced that the
opt[e]way Research and Development Center in France has purchased e*ORB core technology software for the purposes of developing a prototype to embed in its next-generation servers which control the vectoring of its unique interactive mapping technology. This is
opt[e]way's first evaluation of a CORBA-based technology for use within its server architecture.
"The small footprint and the performance of e*ORB makes it the logical choice for communicating with the small footprint of our
opt[e]way geo-dependent services delivery platform," said Jean-Francois Caze, vice president research & development at
opt[e]way. "The support and commitment of the Vertel team to our project was also a strong factor in our decision-making process," added Caze.
"We are very pleased to be part of the prototype that opt[e]way is developing," said Cyrus Irani, president and chief executive officer of Vertel. "We believe that this further demonstrates the versatility of our e*ORB technology and expect that
opt[e]way will be very pleased with the performance and size of our product," Irani added.
