Woodland Hills, Calif., November 7, 2000 – Vertel® (NASDAQ: VRTL), a leading provider of mediation software for telecommunications networks, has sold licenses of its telecommunications management network (TMN) product line to ZhinZhen Node and ZhongXing in China for implementation in several wireless projects.
"We are pleased that we are further penetrating the China market," said Cyrus D. Irani, president and CEO of Vertel. "We're happy to see that our TMN technology as well as our newer applications continue to be key components around the globe in wireless projects and especially pleased that our products are viewed as versatile enough to fit multiple standards."
ZhinZhen Node, an independent software vendor, will use the Vertel TMN development tools to build a Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) monitoring application for a wireless equipment manufacturer in China.
"The Vertel line of development tools is a perfect fit for our wireless monitoring application project," said Yuan Jun, chief technical officer for ZhinZhen Node. "Additionally, Vertel has shown us an incredible amount of support in the evaluation and implementation stages, which is exactly what we needed."
ZhongXing Telecom, a telecommunications equipment developer and manufacturer, will build network management applications that include the Vertel technology for two wireless service providers based on two different standards, GSM and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA).
"We were looking for a supplier that could help us build a network management application that would work in both the GSM and CDMA infrastructures," said Fu Tao, director, mobile communication software development for ZhongXing Telecom. "Vertel's TMN product suite was the perfect solution. We especially like the fact that the purchase of Vertel TMN tools would enable us to use the Vertel Mediation Framework in the future."
