telecommunications networks, today announced the appointment of
James E. Budzyn to the newly created position of Vice President of
Human Resources (HR). Budzyn, a 20-year HR veteran in the
technology sector, will focus on strategic recruiting and
re-designing Vertel’s HR programs to support Vertel’s growth
in both the domestic and international telecommunications markets.
Budzyn will report directly to Gordon
Almquist, Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief
Financial Officer.

Budzyn brings over 20 years experience in human resource
management to Vertel. He will play a key role in
coordinating the company’s compensation, benefits, HRIS, and
recruiting programs. His expertise in planning and managing global
HR programs will allow Vertel to attract and retain top-level
engineering, marketing and sales talent worldwide. “Jim’s
contributions will add new dimension to the value we bring to our
customers,” said Brown.
Prior to joining Vertel, Budzyn served as Vice President, Human
Resources for ACT Networks, a company developing
telecommunications products for the wide area networking industry.
Budzyn's extensive corporate HR experience, also including senior
positions in technology, production, and manufacturing companies
such as Treasure Chest Inc., MagneTek Inc., Del Monte Foods Inc.,
Bourns Inc., Cooper Industries Inc. and Pennwalt Corporation.
