“These two promotions bring a wealth of international experience to our sales and distribution organization,” said Mr. Brown, “We are fortunate to have two such highly seasoned sales professionals on our staff and believe these promotions will strengthen our management team and improve our sales team’s effectiveness.”

As Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Mr. McDaniel will be responsible for sales of all Vertel product lines and services. Before joining Vertel in April 1997, he was Sales Director for ISOCOR, a global messaging vendor. As Sales Director, he developed and implemented international sales and marketing strategies for software products. Before joining ISOCOR, Steve was European Software Sales Manager for Retix Inc., Vertel’s founding company. When Retix became Vertel, Mr. McDaniel returned to Vertel to help the company move forward with its new vision. Prior to Retix, he worked for Hewlett-Packard’s Telecom Test Division and Thorn EMI.

“I look forward to the opportunities that these new markets and new partnerships will bring to Vertel,” said Mr. McDaniel. “We are at a point in our history where we are setting exciting new goals and I am particularly looking forward to working with our global partners.” Mr. McDaniel and his family, who reside in England, plan to relocate to the Woodland Hills, California area.

As Vice President of Worldwide Sales Operations, Mr. Blom will continue his  responsibilities for the Sales Engineering Organization and will assume the role of  Vice President of  Asia Pacific Sales. Mr. Blom joined Retix in 1991. Since then, he has held the positions of Senior Software Engineer, Manager of Research and Development, Manager of Pre/Post Sales and Director of Worldwide Sales Engineering. He has more than ten years of international telecom experience and has been a key player in helping Vertel implement a variety of successful global telecommunications projects. Before joining Retix, he worked for two different software companies -- EGS in Germany and SIM in Italy. 

“I look forward to creating new sales channels and partnerships to extend our leadership position in the TMN market and to introduce Vertel’s next generation management solutions,” said Mr. Blom. Mr. Blom and his family currently reside in Marina Del Rey, California.
