Clear and consistent security
All the necessary and desired functions of network management are implemented. M*Ware Convergent Manager automates network management far better (to better understand the
detailed Convergent Management technical differentiators) than existing “open” systems. This new way of providing network management solutions provides a very
aggressive ROI.
HOW
As described in the NG-OSS architecture, the M*Ware basic platform uses a wide range of standards-based
adapters
to create an open, ubiquitous network data layer bus that translates different network protocols and network data to a common language and protocol independent model (in line with DMTF Common Information Modeling (CIM).
The Convergent Management System builds on this uniform network data, and provides a wide set of generic network information system services and dedicated FCAPS services to support fault, configuration, accounting, performance and security (FCAPS) functionalities.
All FCAPS services are built based on or in compliance with public process standards (such as ITU M.3100) These
M*Ware services
can be plugged in and configured easily so that any in-house developer or system integrator can rapidly create precisely the required, effective multi-vendor solutions.
The generic network information system services are default available for every M*Ware Convergent Manager. Depending on your requirements, dedicated additional sets of FCAPS services are available for

Easily Integrated
M*Ware stands for easy integration. A wide range of protocol and network equipment specific adapters have been developed by Vertel in the last 10 years. Moreover, the newest, advanced telecom standards such as M*Ware-MTNM (Multi-Technology Network Management, based on TMF-814 standard) and 3GPP (for mobile network management) are supported.
Reuse of existing UML and GDMO information models ensures an easy fit to your existing environment.
Convergent Manager is supported over a relational or object oriented database. Automatically generated database schemas ensure easy database integration (with all major database vendors) and provide persistence support.
Convergent Management System integrates easily with other OSSs. CORBA and XML interfaces are used and enhanced to interface with third-party network provisioning systems (such as Astracom, Metasolve and Kapsch) or inventory systems such as Granite Systems and Cramer. Extra attention has been dedicated to the integration with CRM and trouble ticketing applications such as Remedy, Clarify and Siebel.
The M*Ware solution’s architecture is fully distributed and can be scaled to fit every environment size, performance and reliability.
Client Interfaces
The M*Ware Convergent Management concept is extremely powerful.
In the core configuration and the embedded configuration a GUI may not be necessary.
In other configurations of Convergent Manager a JAVA based GUI allows the user to have a stand-alone or browser-based client. All FCAPS services contain features allowing easy configuration of the GUI and server functionality.
In some cases, a service provider or network equipment vendor may prefer to integrate M*Ware Convergent Manager in existing GUIs. To accommodate, this integration is made possible at different levels using JAVA beans, JSP, TACL or CORBA access technology.
M*Ware Exchange Services can be added to automate the right information sharing with providers, partners or customers in a securely controlled manner.
